Kaia Mac is a Singer/Songwriter creating emotional acoustic music with R&B/Soul and Alternative undertones, comparable to artists like Eloise and Dodie. From Maine, she represents the small community of queer, black, youth in the York County area. In her music, she explores mental health and social justice topics as well as her own life experiences, love, and loss.
Kaia started in musical theater at a young age but since has been playing gigs stretching across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts for over five years. Some accomplishments include reaching the top 12 of the singing competition “New England Sings” (judged by Kara DioGuardi, Bonnie Hayes, and Brad Kenney) and creating an event in her hometown, “Locally Inspired”, where artists performed at, former establishment, Madison’s Cafe (a local business that employed people with intellectual and developmental disabilities). She has performed her original song “I Can’t Breathe” at multiple BLM marches/events including “Portsmouth United” in New Hampshire with an audience of over 4k people. She performed in numerous virtual events during the peak of Covid-19 including “Juneteenth” where she received over 10k views. Kaia was then invited to be part of the “Arts for Biden/Harris” campaign, alongside artists like The Ghost of Paul Revere, where she performed, encouraged young people to get out and vote, and recorded a music video. In the fall of 2021, she performed in “The Music of Billie Eilish” alongside many talented artists at Berklee, and the concert film now stands at 120k views.
Kaia Mac has now graduated from Berklee College of Music with a bachelors degree in Professional Music focusing in songwriting and production. Her debut single "growing pains," and EP, "journal entries for my therapist," are available on all streaming platforms now! She can't wait to share more in the future :)
